I’m a bit of a cookbook collector – they’ve overflowed from my office to my bedside table and the kitchen. I use different cookbooks for different things – inspiration, learning a classic technique, discovering new flavor combinations, recreating an ethnic dish, etc. – and I love all of them. But there are a few books that I come back to over and over again – I trust the recipes and I know I will always end up with something delicious.

Lucid Food: Cooking for an Eco-Conscious Life
Roast Figs, Sugar Snow: Winter Food to Warm the Soul
Sunday Suppers at Lucques: Seasonal Recipes from Market to Table

There are so many, many lovely food blogs out there, and I read a lot of them. These are a few of the ones that I most look forward to reading, whether for the inspiring photography, the innovative recipes, or the funny and heartwarming stories. I’ve left off some of the blockbuster food blogs out there (101 Cookbooks, Smitten Kitchen, What Katie Ate, etc.) in the hope that this list will allow you to find something new! (Warning: some of these blogs are actually mostly about farming. But that’s related to food, so they’re staying.)
