Hi Margo,
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! It's wonderful to hear from readers who are out there cooking and listening - sometimes blogging can feel an awful lot like you are talking to yourself on the internet, so I so appreciate you taking the time to say hello. How sad to have lost all of your recipes. I'm glad that blogs have been able to make up for some of it but I'm sure it's not the same. I truly love Russian food, although I think here in the US it has a reputation for being bland - which is not true! What were some of the best dishes your husband's grandmother made? I'd love to hear about them!
xo,
Katie

Katie, this is delicious! Years ago I was married to a man who's ethnic background was Russian.
I regret the loss of all the recipes that I collected from his grandmother who was one of the most talented cook I've ever known! Sadly, in 1980 I lost all of my purchased and all of my collected recipes which were many in a flood. I lost everything as the water mark was up to my clothes rod in my closet...but I miss the 30 years of collected recipes most of all! Thank you for sharing!

Note for Lydia or anyone else

I use Word on my computer & make a document using the copy & paste method, if you save it then you can easily print it out...also beneath the title of the recipe, I always copy & paste the URL where I copied the recipe, I also save an image of the recipe...I do the title centered the URL beneath that and to the far left I insert the picture and take the photo way down in size. Directly beneath the photo I put the oven temp, in the center of the same line, the time needed to prepare and to the far right the number of servings. Skip 1 line and list the ingredients on the far left and then the instructions beneath it. Over a years time I have created two huge 3 ring loose leaf cook books one for myself and one for my youngest son...I always list the site, this way if I share with someone else they can go to the site and find other recipes that they might like, plus when someone shares their talent with you, it is only right to give them the credit that they richly deserve!

I've separated the cook books into the various types of meat, side dishes, appetizers, casseroles, desserts, breads, soups, crackers, cheesecakes, etc. I have 8 pages of DIY spice mixes that are better than the purchased & cheaper, not to mention they do NOT have the additives manufacturers put in. I have so many food blogs from so very many wonderful young women that it makes my head spin! I have recipes from my grandmother and other family members from many years ago, but today for the first time in all of my years collecting I found a recipe for creamed beef over toast which was something I learned in home economic when I was in the 7th grade "eons ago"! lol

I will be 80 years of age this coming October & while I've learned a lot on my own through the years I am privileged to have gleaned so many hundreds of delicious new recipes from the blogs of young women over the 15 years! My hat is off to Katie and all of you that works so very hard and produced such lovely bogs...my love to each and every one of you!

Hi Lydia - There's no print function built into the recipe, sorry. You can select the recipe text and print "selection only," however, and that should work very easily.
