Wife and I avoid Aussie lamb (gamey range fed) and favor meatier mild US grown (partly grain fed).  That alone is a game changer.]]></description>

Hi Christie - so glad you&#039;re going to give this a try! I&#039;ve actually never cooked with a slow cooker, so I can&#039;t really say how well this will adapt. My gut feeling is that it seems like it should be fine, although you&#039;ll lose some of the caramelization effect from the oven. If you do try it, post back here so I know if it works!]]></description>

I&#039;m wondering if I could make the gremolata ahead of time, and put the lamb shanks and tomato-wine-broth mixture in the slow cooker for maybe 4 or 5 hours, instead of the slow roast method? Do you think that would work?]]></description>
