Hi Sanja! Glad you hope to try this recipe. Just wanted to let you know that while removing the sugar might not affect the sweetness, it could definitely affect the muffin's texture. Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for this recipe, will definitely try it, only without sugar.
I am sure that the combination of dry fruits and honey will be sweet enough for me (not to mention healthier :)

Maria, thanks so much for taking the time to come by and give me some pointers! I will definitely weigh the flour next time (I got lazy this time around...), and try adding a few TBS of cream as well. We've already eaten the whole batch (kind of a feat with only 2 people!), so I'll hopefully be making some more soon!

Hi Katie,
What a beautiful post about my muffins. Love that you call them Christmas muffins! I have a couple thoughts about the slight dryness you encountered. It is important in all baking, especially when using whole grains flours, that you weigh the flour on a scale. I've explained the reasons in detail in Baking Basics for Whole grain Flours in my book p. 28. Different whole grain flours act differently, depending on the grind, the weather, the type of wheat, etc. I suggest you add a few tablespoons milk or heavy cream next time (if you are using the same flour). Let me know how it goes!

Aw, I'm flattered! ;) Eating those homemade breakfasts are a must for me now! This week's resolution for me is to drink at least a glass of water between meals, and to have a small glass before breakfast (and coffee/tea!). So far I'm doing well! :)

Yes! I woke up this morning thinking how much I need to start eating real breakfasts, which is a pain because I hate most things breakfasty! These sound perfect, and I am adding the ingredients to my shopping list now...
