You should make those cookies for Christmas this year! They're super good. Or you could just start eating a lot of ice cream sundaes.

Thanks for the grilling advice. I just don't eat a ton of meat (I know, I must not be related to the rest of you), which is why I don't usually think of it, but grilled pizzas and veggie shiskebabs both sound delish. Hope all is well out in CO, miss you guys!

Katie, As usual, your pics are great and the tart looks yummy. I'm not a fig fan so I will probably not make this. Heck I bought maraschino cherries back in Feb. to make your chocolate covered cherry cookies and they still sit unopened in my pantry.
I'm dispensing advice about the grilling item on your bucket list. Don't overthink this. Here in GJ we grill all year round. My grill is 15 years old and barely hanging on but we use it a lot! Keep it simple - that's what grilling is all about. I have a great recipe for grilled apricot chicken thighs I would be happy to pass on. And it is the most complicated grilling I do mostly because the accompanying sauce is a wonderful combination of pistachios, apricots, mustard, etc.

How about grilled pizzas? Simple shiskebabs are always a favorite - making sure to include a lot of the local produce (cherry tomatoes, squash, onions, etc) along with your protein (chicken, steak tips, shrimp). Add some steamed rice and that's a meal. Yum! The best chicken I ever ate was on a charcoal grill at Goblin Valley in Utah.
And, lighting the grill is most of the battle (especially my very old grill).

Have fun.

I've spent all morning making pâté sucree for the first time and my tart crust is currently chilling in the tart tin ready for baking. I'm making a lemon and lime tart but your fig and almond tart looks fantastic and seems like the perfect dessert for shift from summer to autumn, so if my first attempt is successful, I will have to give your recipe a go. Thanks for sharing
