I made these for a co-worker who did a quick fix on my broken car mirror..... delicious cookies, though a little dry. Also, definitely did not make 15 large cookies as advertised. Luckily it was easy enough to make a second batch!

It's so lovely to have lasting friendships. I'm not as good about regularly keeping in touch with most of my friends, but it's great to know that they'll always be right there when we need each other - and the best friendships are usually the easiest. They just... work.

Thanks for such a heartfelt comment!

Girlfriends really are the best. The girls I met almost 12 years ago (!!!) freshman year at Yale continue to be my bestest of bestest friends. I don't know where I'd be without them. We live all over the place now, but we still email every single day, all eight of us. But of course it's also important to have friends close and I'm thankful for all the girls I met when we moved to Switzerland, they are really more like family than friends - expat life can intensify friendships. I know all my girlfriends would love these cookies. I will be sure to make them for the next group gathering. Beautiful post. Enjoy Madrid

When you're in Madrid if you only have a few hours don't spend it on museums and such because you need days to enjoy that. Go to one of the corner cafes and order a fino (very dry cold sherry) with a few tapas. Strike up a conversation with the senor or senorita next to you and you will have the best time!
