Hi Ashley - I'm really not sure what could have gone wrong! Maybe if the soda was flat it wouldn't have risen? I wish I could help, I just don't know enough about how soda interacts with other ingredients to know the answer. Sorry they didn't work out for you!

Hi Katie!

I am a writer for All Things Cupcake, and I would like to share your gorgeous photographs with the cupcake world. Assuming this is okay, I will schedule a post dedicated to you and your lucky friends tomorrow. If this is not okay, let me know and I will cancel or delete the post. I notice that this post is only part 1. If you'd like to let me know when part 2 comes around, I would love to feature that too. We Mainers have to stick together! Happy cupcaking!

@x3baking - I know I can't stand buttercream frostings. Even if it's not too much healthier to eat cream cheese, I can't bring myself to eat something that I myself put two sticks of butter in ... of course if someone else made it I can pretend I don't know and I'll eat it up.

Thanks for visiting!
